It the past, there are only two choices: Make or Buy.
Now, there are other choices:
Open Source is another source.
You don't make or buy.
You just use it and it is free.
But it is not totally free.
When it is not fit, you have to customize it.
You may not have the choice to just take part of it. The whole thing may be too big.
but it is indeed another source to consider.
